The Turing Scheme emerged as the funding option for UK students after Brexit. The scheme started in 2021, but it is falling short due to a lack of transparency and extended funding timelines. Even as 40,000 students are set to get study abroad funding from the government this year, the last-moment wait for Turing funds is stressing them out.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT LEVY IS NO LONGER IN CONSIDERATION FOR AUS INSTITUTIONS

After the suggestion of levying a fee on international students in the Universities Accord interim report, Australian institutions have rejected the proposal. The suggestion aims to address the sector’s funding shortfalls and protect it against future economic shocks. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi’s School of Public Policy (SPP) marked another feat with the successful placement of the students of its first batch of Masters in Public Policy (MPP) graduates. The placement process included 19 of the 21 students receiving their degrees this year. 18 of them bagged 21 offers from diverse organizations in a drive including 27 organisations.

The University of Sheffield, UK has opened the September 2023 application process for its MSc Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence programme. ANNUAL LIST OF FAKE INDIAN UNIVERSITIES RELEASED BY THE UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION (UGC)

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the annual list of 20 fake universities in India. Since these universities are not authorised to confer degrees, students must avoid falling for these institutions. Most of them are located in Delhi (8) and Uttar Pradesh (4). Before seeking admission to a university, students and parents must verify its legitimacy by checking the UGC recognition status.
