TestAS has been incorporated by many German universities into their admissions procedures. However, the weighting of its results differs for each university. Here is a list of universities that consider TestAS scores as a part of their admission criteria-

Exam Pattern

TestAS is conducted in both digital and paper-based formats in English and German languages. It includes-

• Language Test (30 minutes)- Evaluates German language skills (up to B1 level)
• Core Test (110 minutes)- Assesses the general cognitive abilities relevant to programmes
• Subject-specific Tests (150 minutes)- Measure abilities in specific study areas according to courses of study

When it comes to subject-specific tests, candidates can choose from four paper-based or six online modules. Here are the options-

• Humanities, Social Sciences, Cultural Studies, Sociology, Politics, Philosophy, Law, Historical Service (paper-based and online)
• Engineering- Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Environmental, Civil (paper-based and online)
• Business, Management, Economics (paper-based and online)
• Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Natural Sciences (paper-based and online)
• Medicine, Pharmacology, Psychology (online)

Application fees

The cost of the test is usually €80.

Important Dates

The test dates for TestAS 2023 are as follows-

Digital TestAS

• Test dates scheduled for online test on 15 March and 3 June 2023 were cancelled
• 30 November 2023 (Registration from 25 October to 22 November 2023)

Paper-based TestAS

• 3 June 2023 (Registration from 27 February to 23 April 2023)
• 21 October 2023 (Registration from 28 July to 15 September 2023)

Eligibility streams courses

Candidates appearing for TestAS must fulfill the following eligibility criteria-

• Must be from non-EU countries
• Must have completed high school or should be in the last year of secondary school.
• No age limit

Practice exam

Students can prepare for TestAS by practicing with previous year’s papers and mock tests. These tests are available online

Registration Procedure

• Candidates looking to register for TestAS 2023 must register online on the official website. 
• The test is held at different global exam centres. 
• Students can choose a preferred location according to their convenience.
