An information systems manager is someone who is in charge of setting up different computer systems and programmes in a company or organisation, as well as managing a team of IT workers.
Different companies have different titles they call their information systems manager, so depending on the company, you might be called a systems manager, systems delivery manager or functional manager. You will have to gain experience and possibly work in sectors relating to technical support or similar operations before becoming an information systems manager.
Some of the regular responsibilities you’ll also have been researching and monitoring systems or networks, ensuring the smooth running of all processes, training new staff, and working on several projects. Qualities you’ll need to have as a person are good time management as you might have long hours, and the ability to motivate yourself when working independently.
